Boyzone's world changed forever when on 10th October 2009, Stephen was taken from us at the age of 33 While on holiday in Majorca with his husband Andrew, he suffered an acute pulmonary oedema News of his passing shocked and saddened many people, leading to thousands of tributes being paid from friends and fans all over the world. Stephen's bandmates & brothers accompanied him on his final journey back home to Dublin. His funeral service followed on 17th October in Sheriff Street at Church of St Laurence O'Toole. The boyz stayed with him in the church the night before, at the request of Stephen's mum, as she didn't like the thought of him being alone. A memorial organised by Andrew was held at The Palace Theatre in London on 29th November 2009. Mikey, Shane, Keith & Ronan have said they want to keep Stephen's memory alive in any way they can, with the album that they had been working on in 2009 released in March 2010. It features two songs with Stephen's vocals. With the help of Andrew, they are also putting the finishing touches to Stephen's children's book 'The tree of seasons' (out May 2010)
